Student Government/Council is an organization conducted by student leaders to provide leadership and to serve the student body, the school, and the community. Student Government is comprised of 2 subsets within 1 group. The first subset is the student council, which is comprised of students not voted into a position by their peers. This group is in charge of homecoming activities, blood drives, Veterans Day breakfast, the special needs prom, prom, and a variety of other school and community activities. The second subset is the class officers who comprise the “government” side of Student Government. Each class elects 4 officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) to represent their classmates. Student officers are in charge of being the voice of the school by listening to their peers, being leaders and seeking to implement change.
All are welcome to join the Student Government. Student officers are elected each spring for the following school year, with the exception of the freshmen, who are elected in the fall.
