Students & Teacher Return from Italy & France

Posted in: Academics, Student Life by T. Wetzel

Traveling offers students moments to connect with new cultures, languages, and people through authentic meals, activities, interactions and conversations. Mrs. Fragale, WUHS teacher, escorted 16 Wilmot High School students and family members on an incredible learning and traveling experience throughout Italy and France in June. Traveling extends the classroom learning experience, for students may learn a great deal about literature, history, and art, but experiencing  a first-hand visit to the Louvre to stand before the Mona Lisa; or visiting the Palace of Versailles, the home of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI and other French rulers; or traveling throughout the French Riviera, the home of the rich and famous and monarchy of the Rainier dynasty; or standing before Juliet’s balcony in Verona and writing a personal message on her wall; or climbing the steps to the top of the Duomo in Florence and the Eiffel Tower in Paris are experiences which enhance classroom learning to leave a life-long and lasting impression on the student travelers. The students also created new friendships, not only with each other, but with our companion students from New Jersey. Traveling enhances learning and life. This was Mrs. Fragale’s fourth student trip.
