You’re invited to observe Veterans Day with us

Posted in: Community, Events by T. Wetzel

Veterans, families, friends, and the community are invited to observe Veterans Day with the Wilmot Administration, faculty, and students. On Tuesday, November 11, 2014 we will have breakfast and an all-school assembly to recognize and thank our Veterans (read more).

In addition to the Veterans breakfast and assembly, we also invite all to attend a viewing of the movie “Honor Flight”.  The movie will be shown in the WUHS auditorium on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 beginning at 6:00 PM.  Our hope is that this community viewing might open some discussions and lead to sharing of stories and experiences with our students so that they too can gain an appreciation for what service means.  There is no RSVP required to attend.  We plan to have water and popcorn available.  Any donations from the evening will go to support Honor Flight activities.

Students help Mitchell Middle School

Posted in: Community by T. Wetzel

On Tuesday, April 15th, a group of students from Wilmot High School made a special trip to Mitchell Middle School in Racine.  These students represented Wilmot’s National Honor Society, Be the Change Team, Future Educators Association, and Link Crew which were the groups that spear headed a school wide school supply and money drive to help Mitchell School recover after their devastating fire back in February. Students ran bake sales, collected school supplies, conducted a change war, and worked sporting events to help raise funds and supplies for Mitchell Middle School. While at Mitchell, Wilmot students were able to see first-hand what it looks like to have to overcome adversity and to be able to bounce back when life throws you that unexpected curve ball.
