DECA Competition

Tomorrow, Saturday January 9th, DECA students from many different school will be competing in many categories such as Retail, Food, Sports, Full Service, Apparel, and many more.  Students compete in front of judges to potentially earn ribbons or medals.  Few students are then selected to move on to state to compete.  Our very own, Travis Wetzel has had many past experiences with DECA and has judged numerous DECA competitions.  Tomorrow’s competition will take place at Kettle Moraine High School. We wish all of tomorrows competitors best of luck.

How are we doing?

Starting in October, the students of Advanced Web Site Design began putting up blog posts in this column. These dealt with a variety of topics, from Current Events, to technology, even to types of deodorant, nearly every subject has been touched on. But now we’re turning to you, the audience. What would you like to hear about?

What Should We Blog About?

What Should We Blog About?

Maybe you want to know more about the new Movie in the Twilight saga (…maybe you want the very opposite), or perhaps you want to hear more about the preferred type of deodorant amongst students here at Wilmot; whatever it is, leave us a comment, and we will try our hardest to get you information on the subject and satisfy your curiosity. ;)

Apple Field Trip

Apple Field Trip

Yesterday, October 22, the advanced web design class went on a field trip to the Apple retail store in Mayfair Mall in Milwaukee. We when we arrived we were greeted by all the employees. They started with an intro demo on Photo Booth and had us then play around on it and take some pictures and videos. Next had us email them to ourselves from the apple email. After that they introduced iPhoto to us and showed everyone how to create events, combine events and edit the pictures directly from iPhoto. They taught us how to us geo tagging that most new cameras and phones are being sold with. They showed us how to make faces in iPhoto so that when you have friends they are tagged in your pictures. After iPhoto they showed us iMovie where you can do many of editing options to make a sweet movies. After that they showed us how to take the video we made in iMovie and put that into iDVD and make it a DVD with a final menu and title page like a real DVD movie. After they showed us all these cool features on the Macs they let us roam the store and try everything out  for our selves.
