Wilmot vs. Waterford

The boys basketball went to Waterford to play their last SLC conference game. The Waterford Wolverines are undefeated in conference and the Wilmot Panthers have one win in the conference. It was Senior Night for Waterford as they introduced the seniors before the game. It was a close the whole game as it was tied at the end of the half. The game was still close at the end of the 3rd with Wilmot winning by 3. It was a tie game in the middle of the 4th but then Waterford made some clutch shots to make them ahead. Waterford beat Wilmot 62-53. Wilmot will play Tuesday March 2nd in a Regional game against Stoughton.

Wilmot vs. Badger

at the Veterans Memorial Field house the boys basketball team played against the Lake Geneva Badgers. The start was good in the beginning for the panthers which had a 17 point lead going into the half. The Badgers didn’t give up though. In the third quarter the Badgers scored 33 points. They did not miss a shot that quarter. Wilmot couldn’t come back from that run and lost 73-65. Bowers led the team for Lake Geneva with  29 points and

Dailey was right behind him with 20 points. Landon Tenhagen led Wilmot with a season-high of 19 points. Brendon Hayden also had a season-high with 17. The Wilmot Panthers next game will be Saturday February 13th at Milton. Good Luck Panthers

Wilmot vs. Delavan-Darien Comets

Wilmot played Delevan-Darien yesterday for there 2nd conference game and this game was a close one.

With just 5 seconds left in overtime  Justin Fowlkes hit a 17 footer to put the Comets up by 2. After that  Chris Nelson had enough time to shot a NBA three pointer but just missed it. The Comets won 49-47. Chris Nelson had the team high with 15 points. Grant dull had 12 points. Michael Rawlins came off the bench and hit 2 clutch three pointers, one to tie the game up in the 4th quarter to make the score 42-42. Justin Fowlkes had the team high for the Comets with 17 points. Garrett Brickner had 11 points for the Comets. The Wilmot Panthers will play at winless Kenosha Tremper tonight. This game will be also be aired on the internet at gatewaysportsweb.org. As everyone knows basketball season has started for both boys and girls. On Friday, December 11th the varsity boys basketball team went against the Burlington Demons in a heated game. The ending score was 58-50 Burlington but Wilmot put in a fight. Wilmot was in the lead most of the game but just couldn’t hold on in the last remaining minutes in the fourth quarter. Grant Dull scored the highest for Wilmot with 17 points and Landon Tenhagen following with 10 points. The varsity team is currently 1-5 and is playing Delevan-Darien this Thursday at Wilmot. Delevan is 2-2 and is coming from a loss to Elkhorn. Hope to see everyone there cheering on the team.

Basketball Time

HighSchoolBasketball2Winter time is coming around and you know what that means basketball season. The Wilmot Panthers boys basketball team started their first practice on Monday November 16th and they started bright and early at 6 a.m. This season they boys basketball team is shooting for a conference champion and hopefully they succeed. They have a new offense have a new offense this year which was run by Roncalli High School. Wilmot first game is Tuesday November 24th against Brookfield East at Wilmot High School. You all should come and cheer them on.
