Veteran’s Day Assembly 2009

This Wednesday, as all of you know, was Veteran’s Day. In order to properly recognize those that served our country, an assembly was held here at Wilmot High School. The entire production was well organized and put together by the staff. I believe, although it cannot fully express our appreciation, it gave the veterans some sense of how thankful we are to have men and women such as themselves protecting our freedom. Thank you to all the veterans, our country would not be so strong without you.

Veteran’s Day Breakfast & Assembly Approaching

Veteran’s Day is approaching (November 11) and once again we will be having our annual assembly to honor those who have served from our area.  We certainly don’t want to leave anyone out – so, is there someone you know (or yourself) who might be interested in coming to our breakfast and/or assembly?  Do you have a family member (brother, mother, father, grandparent, etc) who served in the military and they are interested in attending?  Please ask them and then let Mrs. Tilsner know as soon as possible if they would like to join us on that Wednesday – 2 and ½ weeks from now.  Individuals can email or call Mrs. Tilsner to RSVP.

On Friday, Wilmot held its annual Homecoming Pep Rally.  Students were greeted by pep band music as they entered the Field House.  Shortly after, the Homecoming Court was brought out. It consisted of freshmen representatives Chaz Schmidt and Jayden Berg, sophomores Billy Akers and Olivia Faber, juniors Hannah Greisen and Ryan Guetzow. The senior representatives were Steven Summers and Alex Romani, and Ryan Fox and Dana Chellman. Tj Goralski and Ashley Romani were announced this year’s Homecoming King and Queen.

Next, the chorus performed a song and dance combination. The Homecoming Court came back out to perform a type of pie eating contest in which juniors Hannah Greisen and Ryan Guetzow won. Afterwards, the staff came onto the court to engage in a game of tug-o-war.  They were divided into teams of Packers fans and Bears fans. After a struggle the Bears fans overcome and won the game. When the staff left up came the cheerleaders. They preformed their dance and stunts to a mixed song. Finally Mr. Irresistible was announced. The winner was Tyler Thomas. Lastly our fall athletes were given credit along with a pep speech from Mr. Greinke, our head football coach.
