The Day of Blountonium

The Plaque

A temporary plaque was made last Wednesday in order to commemorate the discovery of the seemingly fictional element of Blountonium. The picture is just a little blurry, so I shall transcribe it: “Mr. Blount was right here at 12:54 PM on the 26th of May, 2010 during the Obama administration. The Day of Infamy. We shall all remember as he sat at his desk pondering the vast extensiveness of this universe. He discovered that Blountonium was no fictional element, but the element that caused the Big Bang. You see, Blt-∞ is a highly unstable element that undergoes nuclear fission at the sound of “that’s what she said!” so each time you say that sentence, a new universe is created and life will rise in a few billion years.”

An Interview With the Mr. Wilmot

Travis Robinson was crowned Mr. Wilmot last night. He competed against seven other contestants. Scott Sitter was the first runner up and the other contestants were Kevin Calkins, Angel Ramirez, Ken Roth, John Urbaitis, Aaron Rathbone, and Steve Salemi. The proceeds from the event went to cancer research. This is my interview with Travis Robinson

Q: What was your favorite skit?

TR: My favorite skit was the Tiger Woods sports wear skit because it took the most preparation and was the most unique.

Q: What moment were you most nervous for?

TR: Back flip off of Aaron’s shoulders in the beginning dance.

Q: What was your favorite act that wasnt your own?

TR: Scott Sitters ukulele act because I have never seen anyone really play a ukulele.

Q: What was the best thing about being involved in Mr. Wilmot?

TR: MR. Wilmot was over all an absolute blast, from practice to the show, there was never a dull moment.  I don’t think I have  ever gotten a better ab workout than during dance practice because we were constantly laughing. The group of guys that participated all worked so well together, and everyone had great ideas to incorporate. I am looking forward to coming back next year to be apart of it again as a judge and see what the guys have in store for next year!

Q: What was your favorite outfit to wear?

TR: I would have to say the red dress because I had a great time dancing with the judges, in a non harassing way. And it was also Mr. Wetzels favorite.

Mr. Lavine In Action

Today we payed a visit to Mr. Lavine’s World History class, He was so overjoyed to see us that he kindly let us in to observe his class. We talked with him and he said that he thought it was nice that he was able to be a Mr. Wilmot judge.

Mr. Lavine showing us "what's what"

Stop in Mr. Lavine’s room sometime and he will gladly offer you a high five or even a hug if your lucky!

Green shirt kid!

Morbid beast!

Dear Students,

Should kids be able to come to school with green shirts on? And be able to mope around on the floors as if they were a rabid dog? It is a disease quickly spreading throughout Wilmot High School.

As you can see in my picture, this young lad was scrounging for food, but to no avail. When he saw the flash of our updated high tech camera, he came at us in a puma-like fashion. My colleague, Rebecca, and myself were terribly frightened and feel it necessary to warn people of this dangerous nuisance.

We want everybody to rise up and fight the fight of the “Laying Down Green Shirt” species. If we don’t act quickly, the disease will soon spread to every living soul within these halls. Yes, I know… scary thought. But with your help, we will overcome this situation with ease!

Love, Andrew

DECA Nationals ’10

Kailee Wahler and Cody Guetzow

This year Wilmot has three of the eight DECA state contestants going to nationals in Louisville, Kentucky. Kailee Wahler, Cody Guetzow, and Nick Crifase will be leaving this weekend to compete against the top DECA students in the United States. They will have to take  two tests and do two role plays. They will need to use marketing skills that they have learned in classes to outsmart the other students and medal. Mrs. Grochowski, Wilmot’s DECA advisor will be with them to help them study and prepare before their tasks. Hopefully they will all come back with medals. Good Luck!
