Shaun White Goes For Gold

At only 23 years old, Shaun White has accomplished more than more will ever dream of.  Coming out of San Diego California Shaun started revolutionizing the sport of snowboarding at an early age.  Burton noticed the skill and potential of the young Shaun White, and sponsored him at the age of 13.  With the support from Burton, he turned Pro at the age 13.

After winning five national titles as an amateur, Shaun captured his first major win as a pro in 2001 at the Arctic Challenge. He earned his first Winter X Games medal when he was 16, and between Slopestyle and Superpipe hasn’t failed to stand on the Winter X podium since. Between skateboarding and snowboarding Shaun now holds 16 X Games medals, and a record 10 of them are gold.

Shaun recently competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics, and represented the United States well by bringing home the gold medal in snowboard half-pipe. Shaun White continues to push the sport of snowboarding to heights never thought possible.
