DECA is doing a door decorating contest, to get everyone in the Christmas spirit!

When: The doors have to be decorated by Friday, December 18th by 7th hour.

Who:
1. Link Crew Study Halls
2. Clubs/Organizations
3. Winter Sports Teams
4. Academic Departments
5. Other departments such as Front Office Staff and custodial closet doors

How: You can use any supplies you wish but you must bring your own.

Prize: Treats will be supplied to the winners!

Judging: Each door will be judged by:
1. Originality and creativity
2. Quality
3. Clear identification of the group and it’s members
4. Holiday theme

So everyone get going and decorate your favorite teacher’s door. Awwww yeah!

Boys swimming started Monday, November 16th. Men in Speedos, awesome. Wait, they don’t wear Speedos? Darn.

Results are in, Axe wins.

You’ve always seen commercials of Axe and Old Spice, but never known which one is better. That’s where your main man, Justin comes into play. I asked as many girls as I could in 1 week, which was 112, and asked, “Hey! What smells better? Axe or Old Spice?” and they would answer Axe or Old Spice. If they said neither or walked away laughing at me I would mark them “other”.

Results:
Axe: 65 people
Old Spice: 25 people
Other: 22 people

Conclusion, I think when you say Old Spice everyone assumes “LOL OLD PEOPLE!” so they automatically marked down Axe. Also Axe is that body spray that most guys have had, so most girls have been around it and smell it a lot. So, next time you think of picking up the ladies and have 2 body sprays in your hand and one is Axe and the other Old Spice, just think of what 58% of the girls thought.

Zombieland is pretty similar to Shaun of the Dead. It’s a comedy/horror/action movie, but way more focused on the comedy and action.

Character Role Call! You start off with a kid that has a phobia of everything, a mysterious cowboy zombie killing BA, who then both meet two sisters working together to scam the only survivors left in the country. All the characters are named after where they’re going. There’s Colombia, Tallahassee, Little Rock, and Wichita.

Story! There really is no story. You find out the country is infested by zombies. The only real story is the background on where every character wants to be. The kid with all the phobias wants to get to Colombia to see if his parents are still alive. The cowboy zombie killer wants to get to Tallahassee. The two sisters want to go to two different places but end up going to the same place. The movie is all about surviving the zombie apocalypse.

Action! The movie was pretty short so there wasn’t as much mass zombie killing as I would have liked there to be. The action itself was pretty satisfying though.

Concept! Four survivors surviving the apocalypse. It worked out well. The survivors just living daily life. Although what seemed just tacked on for a date movie was the love interest. It was super cliché.

Special Effects! Special effects were very nice. In the beginning the main character (Colombia) was telling the audience all the rules to surviving the zombie apocalypse and the rules would like pop out in the background and a zombie would like burst through it. The special effects reminded me of Wanted…

Conclusion! It was a very enjoyable 90 minutes to watch. Although a couple things could of been removed or added. Like get rid of the love interest in the two characters and add another 20 minutes or so of action instead. It’s an action/comedy/horror not a date movie. A few more action scenes would of been really nice. When they decide to sleep in a house I would have liked to see them defend it from a horde of zombies. Also the movie was way to short. I did like that there wasn’t really much of a story just them living their lives in a zombie land. This movie was very good and I think it is worth checking out.
