Marketing students compete at annual DECA competition
Last week the following students competed at the annual DECA competition. We did not have anyone qualify for Nationals but they did a GREAT job and represented Wilmot in a positive and professional manner.
Mikee Allen & Patrick Cannon – Competed in: Marketing Communications Team Event – 8th Place & Series Finalists (out of 36 teams) — I am extremely proud of this team. This was the first time they competed together and neither one did that well at districts. This is a brand new event and we had very few materials to practice from yet they performed really well.
Kelsey Saucerman – Sports Marketing – scores of 95/100 & 90/100 on her professional role plays – these are really good scores on the role plays. Kelsey has not had a Marketing class in over a year yet she retained and used the knowledge she had when competing.
Taylor Dawson & Bobby Hess – Restaurant & Food Service Management – neither of these competitors have taken a business class before this year and simply decided to compete because they heard there was a competitive area related to restaurants (they both have restaurant experience). They have both said they really enjoyed the experience because it gave them an outlet to use their knowledge and experience and vice versa they can use their DECA experiences on the job.
This group of students were a lot of fun to take to state competition!
